Созвав же двенадцать, дал силу и власть над всеми бесами и врачевать от болезней,
и послал их проповедывать Царствие Божие и исцелять больных.
И сказал им: ничего не берите на дорогу: ни посоха, ни сумы, ни хлеба, ни серебра, и не имейте по две одежды;
и в какой дом войдете, там оставайтесь и оттуда отправляйтесь в путь.
А если где не примут вас, то, выходя из того города, отрясите и прах от ног ваших во свидетельство на них.
Они пошли и проходили по селениям, благовествуя и исцеляя повсюду.
Услышал Ирод четвертовластник о всем, что делал Иисус, и недоумевал: ибо одни говорили, что это Иоанн восстал из мертвых;
другие, что Илия явился, а иные, что один из древних пророков воскрес.
И сказал Ирод: Иоанна я обезглавил; кто же Этот, о Котором я слышу такое? И искал увидеть Его.
Апостолы, возвратившись, рассказали Ему, что они сделали; и Он, взяв их с Собою, удалился особо в пустое место, близ города, называемого Вифсаидою.
Но народ, узнав, пошел за Ним; и Он, приняв их, беседовал с ними о Царствии Божием и требовавших исцеления исцелял.
День же начал склоняться к вечеру. И, приступив к Нему, двенадцать говорили Ему: отпусти народ, чтобы они пошли в окрестные селения и деревни ночевать и достали пищи; потому что мы здесь в пустом месте.
Но Он сказал им: вы дайте им есть. Они сказали: у нас нет более пяти хлебов и двух рыб; разве нам пойти купить пищи для всех сих людей?
Ибо их было около пяти тысяч человек. Но Он сказал ученикам Своим: рассадите их рядами по пятидесяти.
И сделали так, и рассадили всех.
Он же, взяв пять хлебов и две рыбы и воззрев на небо, благословил их, преломил и дал ученикам, чтобы раздать народу.
И ели, и насытились все; и оставшихся у них кусков набрано двенадцать коробов.
В одно время, когда Он молился в уединенном месте, и ученики были с Ним, Он спросил их: за кого почитает Меня народ?
Они сказали в ответ: за Иоанна Крестителя, а иные за Илию; другие же говорят, что один из древних пророков воскрес.
Он же спросил их: а вы за кого почитаете Меня? Отвечал Петр: за Христа Божия.
Но Он строго приказал им никому не говорить о сем,
сказав, что Сыну Человеческому должно много пострадать, и быть отвержену старейшинами, первосвященниками и книжниками, и быть убиту, и в третий день воскреснуть.
Ко всем же сказал: если кто хочет идти за Мною, отвергнись себя, и возьми крест свой, и следуй за Мною.
Ибо кто хочет душу свою сберечь, тот потеряет ее; а кто потеряет душу свою ради Меня, тот сбережет ее.
Ибо что пользы человеку приобрести весь мир, а себя самого погубить или повредить себе?
Ибо кто постыдится Меня и Моих слов, того Сын Человеческий постыдится, когда приидет во славе Своей и Отца и святых Ангелов.
Говорю же вам истинно: есть некоторые из стоящих здесь, которые не вкусят смерти, как уже увидят Царствие Божие.
После сих слов, дней через восемь, взяв Петра, Иоанна и Иакова, взошел Он на гору помолиться.
И когда молился, вид лица Его изменился, и одежда Его сделалась белою, блистающею.
И вот, два мужа беседовали с Ним, которые были Моисей и Илия;
явившись во славе, они говорили об исходе Его, который Ему надлежало совершить в Иерусалиме.
Петр же и бывшие с ним отягчены были сном; но, пробудившись, увидели славу Его и двух мужей, стоявших с Ним.
И когда они отходили от Него, сказал Петр Иисусу: Наставник! хорошо нам здесь быть; сделаем три кущи: одну Тебе, одну Моисею и одну Илии, не зная, что говорил.
Когда же он говорил это, явилось облако и осенило их; и устрашились, когда вошли в облако.
И был из облака глас, глаголющий: Сей есть Сын Мой Возлюбленный, Его слушайте.
Когда был глас сей, остался Иисус один. И они умолчали, и никому не говорили в те дни о том, что видели.
В следующий же день, когда они сошли с горы, встретило Его много народа.
Вдруг некто из народа воскликнул: Учитель! умоляю Тебя взглянуть на сына моего, он один у меня:
его схватывает дух, и он внезапно вскрикивает, и терзает его, так что он испускает пену; и насилу отступает от него, измучив его.

Having convened the twelve, he gave strength and power over all demons and healed from diseases,
and he sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
And he said unto them, Take nothing on the road: not a staff, not a bag, not bread, not silver, and not have two clothes;
and what house you enter, stay there and go from there.
And if they do not take you anywhere, then, leaving the city, shake off the dust from your feet as a witness to them.
They went and walked through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
Herod the tetrarch heard of all that Jesus did, and wondered: for some said that it was John who rose from the dead;
others that Elijah appeared, and others that one of the ancient prophets was resurrected.
And Herod said: I beheaded John; Who is this, about whom I hear this? And sought to see Him.
The apostles, returning, told Him what they had done; and He, taking them with Him, withdrew especially to an empty place, near a city called Bethsaida.
But the people, having learned, went after him; and He, having received them, talked with them about the Kingdom of God and healed those who required healing.
Day began to lean towards evening. And, having approached Him, the twelve said to Him: Let the people go, so that they go to the neighboring villages and villages to spend the night and get food; because we are here in an empty place.
But He said to them: You give them something to eat. They said: we have no more than five loaves and two fish; do we go buy food for all these people?
For there were about five thousand people. But He said to His disciples: Seat them in rows of fifty.
And they did so, and they seated all.
But he took five loaves of bread and two fish and looked up to heaven, blessed them, broke them, and gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people.
And they all ate and were filled; and the pieces left over from them were scored twelve baskets.
At one time, when He prayed in a secluded place, and the disciples were with Him, He asked them: for whom does the people regard Me?
They said in reply: for John the Baptist, and others for Elijah; others say that one of the ancient prophets was resurrected.
But he asked them: and who do you regard me as? Peter answered: for Christ of God.
But He strictly ordered them not to tell anyone about this,
saying that the Son of Man must suffer a lot, and be rejected by elders, high priests and scribes, and be killed, and resurrected on the third day.
To all he said: if anyone wants to follow Me, deny himself, and take up your cross, and follow Me.
For he who wants to save his soul, he will lose it; but he who loses his soul for my sake will save it.
For what is the use of man to gain the whole world, and to destroy himself or to harm himself?
For he who is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man is ashamed when he comes in His glory and the Father and the holy Angels.
I tell you truly: there are some who stand here who will not taste death, as they already see the kingdom of God.
After these words, about eight days later, taking Peter, John and Jacob, He went up the mountain to pray.
And when he prayed, the appearance of His face changed, and His clothes became white, shining.
And so, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah;
appearing in glory, they spoke of His exodus, which He was to accomplish in Jerusalem.
Peter and those who were with him were aggravated by sleep; but, having awakened, they saw His glory and two men standing with Him.
And when they departed from Him, Peter said to Jesus: Mentor! it’s good for us to be here; we will do three things: one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah, not knowing what he was saying.
When he said this, a cloud appeared and dawned on them; and were afraid when they entered the cloud.
And there was a voice from the cloud, saying: This is My Beloved Son, listen to Him.
When this voice came, Jesus was left alone. And they kept silent, and did not tell anyone in those days what they saw.
The very next day, when they came down from the mountain, many people met Him.
Suddenly one of the people exclaimed: Teacher! I implore you to look at my son, he is my one:
he is seized by the spirit, and he suddenly screams, and torments him, so that he emits foam; and forcibly departs from him, tormenting him.
