The old soldier was going home for a visit. I got tired in the way, I wanted to eat.
He reached the village, knocked on the outermost hut:
- Let the road man rest!

 

The old woman opened the door:
- Come on in, serve ...
- And do not you have something to eat, hostess?
The old woman is rich, but mean, you will not get ice in the winter:
"Oh, good man, she herself did not eat anything today ... There's nothing!"
"Well, there's no trial," the soldier says.

 

Here he noticed under the bench an ax without an ax handle:
