Казаки проведут для студентов открытый урок по истории Таганрога. 7 сентября, 160 лет назад, император Александр Второй даровал приморским казакам и ополченцам грамоту за героизм, проявленный при отражении англо-французских морских десантов в годы Крымской войны. Напомню, в 50-х годах 19-го века вражеская коалиция не раз нападала на Таганрог. Союзники намеревались захватить основную базу снабжения Севастополя. Казаки обычно прятались в засаде и выигрывали своей внезапностью – другого пути не находили, потому что у них не было артиллерии, рассказал историк, специалист по обороне Приазовья в Крымскую войну, Сергей Степаненко.
