Памятник Цезарю Куникову установят в Ростове. Увековечить в бронзе командира морских пехотинцев, захвативших плацдарм «Малая земля» в 43-м, решили представители Ростовского морского собрания. Советский герой будет изображен в полный рост на морском валуне и с биноклем в руках. Двухметровую скульптуру уже начали отливать, после этого ее закрепят на гранитном постаменте. Первоначально памятник собирались установить возле мореходного училища на Седова, теперь же автор Сергей Олешня настаивает на переносе памятника.

Еще одна работа Сергея Олешни появится на границе Ростовской области и Ставропольского края в следующем году. В память о сражение на реке Калалах в 1774 году. Тогда тысяча казаков под предводительством Матвея Платова победили 20-тысячную турецко-татарскую армию. На месте битвы установят 5-метровый конный памятник графу-атаману.
