Начальнику хора. Псалом Давида. Господи! Ты испытал меня и знаешь.
Ты знаешь, когда я сажусь и когда встаю; Ты разумеешь помышления мои издали.
Иду ли я, отдыхаю ли Ты окружаешь меня, и все пути мои известны Тебе.
Еще нет слова на языке моем, Ты, Господи, уже знаешь его совершенно.
Сзади и спереди Ты объемлешь меня, и полагаешь на мне руку Твою.
Дивно для меня ведение Твое, высоко, не могу постигнуть его!
Куда пойду от Духа Твоего, и от лица Твоего куда убегу?
Взойду ли на небо Ты там; сойду ли в преисподнюю и там Ты.
Возьму ли крылья зари и переселюсь на край моря, -
и там рука Твоя поведет меня, и удержит меня десница Твоя.
Скажу ли: может быть, тьма скроет меня, и свет вокруг меня сделается ночью;
но и тьма не затмит от Тебя, и ночь светла, как день: как тьма, так и свет.
Ибо Ты устроил внутренности мои и соткал меня во чреве матери моей.
Славлю Тебя, потому что я дивно устроен. Дивны дела Твои, и душа моя вполне сознает это.
Не сокрыты были от Тебя кости мои, когда я созидаем был в тайне, образуем был во глубине утробы.
Зародыш мой видели очи Твои; в Твоей книге записаны все дни, для меня назначенные, когда ни одного из них еще не было.
Как возвышенны для меня помышления Твои, Боже, и как велико число их!
Стану ли исчислять их, но они многочисленнее песка; когда я пробуждаюсь, я все еще с Тобою.
О, если бы Ты, Боже, поразил нечестивого! Удалитесь от меня, кровожадные!
Они говорят против Тебя нечестиво; суетное замышляют враги Твои.
Мне ли не возненавидеть ненавидящих Тебя, Господи, и не возгнушаться восстающими на Тебя?
Полною ненавистью ненавижу их: враги они мне.
Испытай меня, Боже, и узнай сердце мое; испытай меня и узнай помышления мои;
и зри, не на опасном ли я пути, и направь меня на путь вечный.

You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thoughts from afar.
Whether I am coming, whether I am resting You surround me, and all my ways are known to Thee.
There is still no word in my language, You, Lord, already know it perfectly.
In the back and in the front Thou comprehend me, and lay thy hand upon me.
Marvelous to me is your guidance, high, I can not comprehend it!
Where will I go from your Spirit and from where will I flee?
If I ascend into heaven, there; I will go down into the nether regions and there you are.
I'll take the wings of the dawn and settle on the edge of the sea,
and there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.
I will say: maybe darkness will hide me, and the light around me will be at night;
But the darkness will not overshadow you, and the night shines like a day: like darkness, so is light.
For you have made my entrails and woven me in the womb of my mother.
I praise you, because I am marvelously arranged. Your works are marvelous, and my soul is fully conscious of this.
My bones were not hidden from Thee, when I was made in secret, we formed in the depths of the womb.
My eye saw the seed of my embryo; In Your book all the days are recorded for me, appointed, when none of them was yet.
How lofty for me is your thought, O God, and how great is their number!
Will I number them, but they are more numerous than sand; when I awake, I am still with You.
Oh, if You, God, would strike the wicked! Get away from me, bloodthirsty!
They speak against you wickedly; Thy enemies conceal this vanity.
Shall I not hate those who hate you, Lord, and do not abhor that are risen up against thee?
With complete hatred I hate them: they are enemies to me.
Try me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts;
and see if I'm on the dangerous path, and lead me to the eternal path.
You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thoughts from afar.
