В шестинедельном возрасте вместе с родителями был заключён в Каунасское гетто, где погибли родственники. Через полтора года семье Камы Гинкаса удалось бежать из гетто, скрываясь у знакомой литовской семьи до освобождения города. Учился в Вильнюсской консерватории на актёрском факультете, затем в ЛГИТМиКе на курсе Г.А.Товстоногова. С 1970 по 1972 г. — главный режиссёр Красноярского ТЮЗа. Сейчас работает в Московском Театре юного зрителя.
At the age of six weeks, together with his parents, he was imprisoned in the Kaunas ghetto, where relatives were killed. After a year and a half, the family of Kama Ginkas managed to escape from the ghetto, hiding from a familiar Lithuanian family until the liberation of the city. He studied at the Vilnius Conservatory at the acting faculty, then in LGITMiK on the course of G.А.Tovstonogov. From 1970 to 1972 - the chief director of the Krasnoyarsk Youth Theater. Now works in the Moscow Theater of the Young Spectator.
