Эрху (кит. 二胡) — старинный китайский струнный смычковый инструмент, оригинальная двуструнная скрипка с металлическими струнами. Тетиву смычка во время игры музыкант натягивает пальцами правой руки, а сам смычок закреплен между двумя струнами, составляя с эрху единое целое. При игре пальцами левой руки используется поперечное вибрато, когда струна как будто бы продавливается вниз — чему способствует сама конструкция круглого грифа, над которым укреплены струны. Навечно связанный со струнами смычок довольно трудно «канифолить», но китайские музыканты нашли выход — на верхнюю часть деревянного цилиндрического резонатора капают расплавленную канифоль, о которую (когда она застынет) «канифолят» смычок. Цилиндрический резонатор снабжен мембраной из кожи змеи.

Erhu (whale 二胡) - an ancient Chinese stringed bow instrument, an original two-stringed violin with metal strings. Bowstring during the game, the musician pulls the fingers of his right hand, and the bow itself is fixed between the two strings, making up with an erhu a single whole. When playing with the fingers of the left hand, a transverse vibrato is used, when the string seems to be pushed down - which is facilitated by the very design of the round neck, over which the strings are strengthened. The bow attached to the strings is difficult enough to "rosen", but the Chinese musicians have found a way out - a melted rosin is dripping onto the upper part of the wooden cylindrical resonator, about which (when it is solidified) the "rosin" bow. The cylindrical resonator is equipped with a membrane of snake skin.
