Блаженная царица Феофания (Феофано), первая супруга императора Льва VI Мудрого (886 - 911). По наветам была вместе с мужем, тогда еще наследником престола, заключена на три года в темницу. Получив свободу, проводила жизнь в молитве и посте. Кротость, милосердие и сердечное сокрушение о грехах прославили ее имя среди сограждан. Феофания скончалась в 893 или 894 году.
Blessed Queen Feofaniya (Theophano), the first wife of Emperor Leo VI the Wise (886 - 911). She was with her husband, then still heir to the throne, imprisoned for three years in prison. After receiving freedom, she spent her life in prayer and fasting. Meekness, mercy and heartbreak for sins glorified her name among fellow citizens. Theophany died in 893 or 894.
