Во время пыток, истязаний и расстрелов в концентрационном лагере "Яновский" (г.Львов), всегда играла музыка. Оркестр состоял из заключенных, они играли одну и ту же мелодию — «Танго смерти». Автор этого произведения остался неизвестным. В числе оркестрантов были — профессор Львовской государственной консерватории Штрикс, дирижер оперы Мунд и другие известные украинские музыканты.
