"Апокалипсис" (откровение) – пророческая книга, последняя в числе Новозаветных книг. Книга написана св. апостола Иоанном Богословом на острове Патмосе, куда он был сослан Домицианом за свидетельство об Иисусе Христе; состоит из 22-х глав. Цель откровения – утешить верующих среди гонений и рассеять заботливые опасения их на счет будущности Христианства, на которое со всех сторон ополчаются и Иудеи (11:1-17), и язычники (11:18-19,20), и лжеучители (13:11-19). His subject is the wrath of the serpent, the ancient tempter, with the Lamb the Redeemer, the complete, final victory of the Lamb and the future renewal of the whole world. The book is in the following words: "... He who testifies this says: To her, I am coming soon! Amen. Come, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all, Amen. "
