Авторство текста было установлено в 2002 году Михаилом Эльзоном - это стихотворение Владимира Соллогуба, написанное ок. 1855 года в альбом юной родственнице княгине Юлии Сергеевне Голицыной. До этого, со времени создания романса автором текста указывался Зименко (неустановленная личность, точные инициалы неизвестны) - предположительно, от него Булахов услышал стихотворение и потому подписал текст его именем. Таким образом, традиционное указание Зименко в качестве автора оказалось ошибочным.
Петр Петрович Булахов (1822-1885), композитор, родился в семье известного московского оперного певца. К концу жизни оказался парализован, имущество и многие рукописи погибли при пожаре. Последние годы провел в имении Кусково приютившего его графа Шереметева. Романсы писал также его брат Павел Петрович Булахов, оперный тенор.

The authorship of the text was established in 2002 by Michael Elzon - this is a poem by Vladimir Sollogub, written approx. 1855 in an album to a young relative of Princess Yulia Sergeyevna Golitsyna. Prior to this, since the creation of the romance, the author of the text indicated Zimenko (an unidentified person, the exact initials are unknown) - presumably, Bulakhov heard a poem from him and therefore signed the text with his name. Thus, the traditional designation of Zimenko as an author turned out to be erroneous.
Pyotr Petrovich Bulakhov (1822-1885), composer, was born in the family of a famous Moscow opera singer. By the end of his life he was paralyzed, property and many manuscripts died in a fire. The last years he spent in the estate of Kuskovo, herding Count Sheremetev. Romances were also written by his brother Pavel Petrovich Bulakhov, an opera tenor.
