В фантазии "битва при мариньяно" для четырехголосного смешанного хора Жанекен как бы рисует картину сражения между французскими и швейцарскими войсками. Жанровая картина баталии звукоподражательными моментами(сигналы тревоги, победные фанфарные интонации). В этом сочинении, как и в других, Жанекен широко использует приемы имитаций т переклички разных групп хора. Подражая фанфарам, голоса хора придают звукам тонического трезвучия различные тембры. Краткость и законченность фраз, их ритмическая определенность при большой подвижности сообщают музыке игривость.
