Почти три года назад наша страна отмечала двухсотлетнюю годовщину со дня начала Отечественной войны 1812 года. Я заинтересовалась тем, какие здания в Москве были построены еще до войны. Оказалось, что в Москве множество зданий помнят события далекого 1812 года. А интерес мой пробудила статья в «Московском журнале» об истории знаменитого Воспитательного дома, который в 1812 года стал прибежищем детей, сирот и раненых. Когда мы нашли его и сфотографировали, захотелось пройти в его окрестностях и мы отыскали еще несколько зданий, особняков того времени, некоторые из них находились на ремонте. Мы старались запечатлеть эти строения на своих фотоснимках. Иногда мы снимали вечером, поэтому на нескольких работах так заметна особая игра теней.
Almost three years ago, our country celebrated the bicentennial anniversary of the start of the Patriotic War of 1812. I became interested in what buildings in Moscow were built before the war. It turned out that in Moscow many buildings remember the events of the distant 1812. And my interest was aroused by an article in the “Moscow Journal” about the history of the famous Educational House, which in 1812 became the refuge of children, orphans and the wounded. When we found it and photographed it, I wanted to go around it and we found several more buildings, mansions of the time, some of which were under repair. We tried to capture these buildings in our photographs. Sometimes we shot in the evening, which is why a special shadow game is so noticeable in several works.
