Российский композитор Альфред Гарриевич Шнитке (в семье его родители, правда, говорили по-немецки) создавал не только интереснейшие концерты и оперы для классического набора инструментов (с содержанием шизофреничным - чего стоит опера "Жизнь с идиотом" по Ерофееву - и при том понятным настроенному на традиционный лад уху), но и осваивал новые инструменты. Так, в 1969 году он при помощи эпичного студийного синтезатора АНС (который заслуживает отдельной истории) создал звуковое полотно "Поток". Прослушав его, можно прийти к заключению, что эмбиент родился в Союзе лет за двадцать до его наименования Брайаном Ино.
