Пьеса вдохновлена одноимённым антиутопическим романом Станислава Лема, в котором описывается победа автономно развившихся нанотехнологий над человеческой цивилизацией, точнее, «машинной» её частью. Символическая «пыль» — конечный продукт мёртвой эволюции — представлена как размывание условного «культурного кода» (у Лема — машинного мира), то есть стилистических технических платформ музыки прошлого. Постмодернистская аксиологическая (а как следствие и технологическая) катастрофа в искусстве (например, музыкальном) приводит к тишине смыслов, связей и оценок в слушательском сознании.

Symbolic "dust" - the final product of the dead evolution - is represented as a blurring of the conditional "cultural code" (in Lem - the machine world), that is, the stylistic technical platforms of music of the past. Postmodern axiological (and, as a consequence, technological) catastrophe in art (for example, musical) leads to silence of meanings, connections and evaluations in the listener consciousness.
