Несмотря на название, Марш Радецкого написал вовсе не Радецкий, а старший из Штраусов (а вот полонез Огинского написал Огинский, не перепутайте). Марш был написан к триумфальному возвращению в Вену фельдмаршала Радецкого с войском из Италии. И впервые исполнялся при торжественном проходе через город. Австрийцы были настолько впечатлены, что не могли удержаться от притоптываний в такт. С тех пор это стало традицией на новогодних концертах Венского Филармонического оркестра. Музыканты заканчивают выступление именно этим Маршем, а сидевшие до этого момента спокойно слушатели ритмично прихлопывают и притоптывают.
