...Читаешь – будто пазлы складывешь. М. Анчаров, этот «последний романтик минувшего века», все видел по-своему, он верил в светлое будущее, о которым мы нынче говорим не иначе как с саркастической усмешкой. Но душа читателя не удивляется всей этой небычности: все естественно и понятно, потому что он сам писал книгу душой.
Никакой сентиментальщины, однако есть эпизоды, которые у меня без слез не читались. И не потому что в них автор «вышибает слезу». Этого и в помине нет. Просто невозможно ТАКОЕ читать без слез – и хорошо, что невозможно, значит, душа откликается.
М. Анчаров: «Я написал про человека, которого люблю. Надеюсь, это заметно».
