Преподобный Боголеп был учеником преподобного Паисия Угличского (+1504; память 6/19 июня). В миру он был хлебопекарем, то же послушание нес и в обители. Ему явилась чудотворная икона Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы, когда преподобный пошел рано утром за водой на Волгу. Он увидел неизвестно откуда приплывшую икону, которая стояла у берега и сияла небесным светом. Оставив водонос, преподобный Боголеп быстро побежал в обитель и рассказал все преподобному Паисию. The Monk Bogolep was a disciple of the Monk Paisius of Uglich (+1504, commemorated on June 6/19). In the world he was a baker, the same obedience carried to the monastery. He saw an unknown icon from where it had come, which stood by the shore and shone with heavenly light. His memory takes place on August 22 / September 4 - the day of the memory of the famous martyr Theopress (according to the Russian translation, Bogolep).
