35. Її вибір
Емма Андієвська народилася 1933 року в Донецьку. Потім родина переїхала до Вишгорода, що під Києвом. Саме тут, як згадує письменниця, вона вперше побачила жінок, які, одягнені в білі вишивані сорочки, ступали босоніж по чорній весняній запашній ріллі. А якою колоритною, багатою мовою вони спілкувалися!
Емма Андієвська розповідає, що до шести років узагалі не володіла українською мовою, для неї навіть вибирали няньок зі справжнім російським акцентом, аби виховати панську дитину. Не виховали, бо кожна дитина гостро реагує на несправедливість. Навколо тільки й чулося про рівність, братерство, а тут чомусь українці були принижені й упосліджені. Отож, за логікою, вона мусила бути на боці кривджених, а не кривдників. Так відбувся її вибір.
Саме тут, на Київщині, її застала війна. З 1943 року майбутня письменниця мешкає в Західній Європі. Закінчивши в Німеччині університет, вона переїздить до Парижа, а потім — до США. Тут вона разом з іншими переселенцями з України створює гурток поетів, який здійснив справжню революцію в письменстві української діаспори.
Наприкінці шістдесятих років Емма Андієвська повертається до Німеччини, де мешкає й тепер. Нині вона не лише письменниця, а й самобутня художниця.

Emma Andievskaya says that she did not speak Ukrainian at all until he was six years old; even she chose a nanny with a real Russian accent in order to educate her husband. They were not brought up, because every child reacts sharply to injustice. Only about equality and brotherhood were heard around, and here for some reason Ukrainians were humiliated and harassed. Therefore, according to logic, she had to be on the side of the perpetrators, not the offenders. So it was her choice.
It was here, in the Kyiv region, that it was caught by the war. Since 1943, the future writer lives in Western Europe. After graduating from university in Germany, she goes to Paris and then to the USA. Here, she, along with other settlers from Ukraine, creates a circle of poets who made a real revolution in the writing of the Ukrainian diaspora.
At the end of the sixties, Emma Andievskaya returns to Germany, where she lives now. Now she is not only a writer, but also an original artist.
