Franz Schubert's "Third Song of Ellen" is often inaccurately called "Ave Maria Schubert", although in reality the text to which this music was written is taken from the German translation of Walter Scott's poem about the Celtic Lady of the Lake ("The Lady of the Lake", 1810) and includes only the first two words of the prayer. Subsequently, Ave Maria began to sing entirely to the music of this song by Schubert, although the composer did not mean it.
