Для записи альбома «L.D. 50» музыканты отправились в Ванкувер, где поступили в распоряжение Гарта Ричардсона, известного своей работой с «Kittie» и «Rage against the machine».
Материал для песен этой пластинки был навеян фильмом Стенли Кубрика «Космическая одиссея 2001». Процесс записи продвигался очень напряженно, но ребята потрудились на славу, и это по достоинству было оценено публикой. Альбом дебютировал на 113-й позиции чартов «Billboard», а некоторое время спустя его тираж перевалил за полумиллионную отметку. «Mudvayne» совершили глобальное турне по Штатам в компании с коллегами по цеху «Slipknot», что добавило им очередную порцию популярности. To record the album "L.D. 50 ”the musicians went to Vancouver, where they were made available to Garth Richardson, famous for his work with Kittie and Rage against the machine.
The material for the songs on this record was inspired by the Stanley Kubrick film Space Odyssey 2001. The recording process was very tense, but the guys did their best, and it was appreciated by the public. The album debuted at the 113th position of the Billboard charts, and some time later its circulation exceeded half a million mark. “Mudvayne” made a global tour of the States in a company with colleagues in the workshop “Slipknot”, which added another batch of popularity. By the way, in the stage image, the group was similar to the Slipknotovists with its aggressive make-up and fancy costumes.
