Однажды, в 1988 году на м.Уэринг (о.Врангеля) полярник и поэт Виталий Шенталинский (сегодня — известный писатель, историк, документалист) показал мне чудесное стихотворение «Уэринг», которое начиналось строкою: юность, юность, дикий берег… Мелодия возникла, можно сказать, из тишины, окружавшей старый тундровый домик, стоящий у подножия мыса Уэринг, на берегу бухты Драги, из запахов тундры, из наполненных снегом августовских облаков, и легко растеклась по струнам видавшей виды черниговской гитары. И родилась песня-рассказ.
