Песня связана с обычаями весеннего цикла - со встречей и проводами русалок. Оригинал (без странных призвуков - колокольцев) опубликован на пластинке фирмы "Мелодия" в 1968 г. 33Д-21479.
Об образах русалок написано много. Но следует заметить, что образ сей "списан" не просто с "женщин утопленниц"...В сказках мы часто встречаемся с образом дев, про которых сказано, что кожа у них как "елова кора, а волосы, что ковыль трава"...Вероятно это описание юных незамужних дев, образы которых исследуют такие исследователи как Д.Фрезер или А.Афанасьев. В русских же легендах( напр. о Святогоре) такого рода русалку (Пленку) сей богатырь "расколдовывает" ударом волшебного меча...В сказках об этом тоже можно почитать("Заколдованная королевна", "Царь девица", "Сказка о молодце удальце...и др.)
Становится ясно, что весенний период--это время юных, не замужних дев, в отличии от летнего--"зрелого периода" т.с. "замужних женщин".
