В расписании апатитского аэропорта скоро появится новый рейс. Трижды в неделю выполнять полеты из Петербурга в Хибины будет авиакомпания «Псковавиа». Сообщение с Пулково будет круглогодичным. Появление еще одной регулярной линии стало возможно благодаря утвержденному недавно постановлению Правительства России «О предоставлении в 2013 году субсидий организациям воздушного транспорта на осуществление региональных воздушных перевозок...». Оно предусматривает господдержку для маршрутов между узловым и региональными аэропортами на расстоянии, не превышающем 1200 км. Об этом сообщил генеральный директор аэропорта Апатиты/ Кировск Валентин Бабкин. В настоящее время самолеты регулярных авиалиний из аэропорта в Хибинах летают только в Москву, и только трижды в неделю.
