"Господь - свет мой и спасение мое: кого мне бояться? Господь крепость жизни моей: кого мне страшиться? Если будут наступать на меня злодеи, противники и враги мои, чтобы пожрать плоть мою, то они сами преткнутся и падут. Если ополчится против меня полк, не убоится сердце мое; если восстанет на меня война, и тогда буду надеяться. Одного просил я у Господа, того только ищу, чтобы пребывать мне в доме Господнем во все дни жизни моей, созерцать красоту Господню и посещать [святый] храм Его, ибо Он укрыл бы меня в скинии Своей в день бедствия, скрыл бы меня в потаенном месте селения Своего, вознес бы меня на скалу. Тогда вознеслась бы голова моя над врагами, окружающими меня; и я принес бы в Его скинии жертвы славословия, стал бы петь и воспевать пред Господом. Услышь, Господи, голос мой, которым я взываю, помилуй меня и внемли мне. Сердце мое говорит от Тебя: "ищите лица Моего"; и я буду искать лица Твоего, Господи. Ты был помощником моим; не отвергни меня и не оставь меня, Боже, Спаситель мой! ибо отец мой и мать моя оставили меня, но Господь примет меня. Научи меня, Господи, пути Твоему и наставь меня на стезю правды, ради врагов моих; не предавай меня на произвол врагам моим, ибо восстали на меня свидетели лживые и дышат злобою. "The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life: whom shall I fear? If the villains, my opponents and enemies will attack me, in order to devour my flesh, they themselves will stumble and fall. If they oppose me regiment, my heart will not be afraid; if war arises upon me, and then I will hope. I asked the Lord one, only that I seek to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to contemplate the beauty of the Lord and visit His [holy] temple for he would hide me in his tabernacle in the day of distress, would hide me I would have taken me to the rock in a secret place of my village. Then my head would have been lifted up above the enemies around me, and I would have offered sacrifices of praise in His tabernacle, would have begun to sing and sing before the Lord. I cry, have mercy on me, and hearken to me. My heart says from you: "seek My face", and I will look for Your face, O Lord. Do not hide Your face from me; do not refuse Your servant in wrath. You were my helper; do not reject me and do not leave me, my God, my Savior! for my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will receive me.
