The so-called "Aria on the G string" by Johann Sebastian Bach is actually Wilhelmy's second movement from Bach's Orchestra Suite BWV 1068 - arranged for violin and piano. By transposing the aria from D major to C major, Wilhelmy was able to play it entirely on one string.
