Турбьерн Эгнер -- знаменитый норвежский писатель, чьи добрые и смешные сказки помнит и любит не одно поколение читателей.
Кардамон -- это крохотный городок, а находится он так далеко, что о нем знают только бабушка и дедушка, ну может быть, еще мама с папой. Наверное, они тоже мечтали в детстве жить в городе, где пекут ароматные пряники, все жители вежливые-превежливые и катаются на стареньком трамвайчике. Там даже городовой Бастиан такой добрый, что не любит никого наказывать. И когда в городе появились разбойники, Бастиан растерялся. Он же никого и никогда не запирал в тюрьму! Впрочем, скоро произошло одно событие, после которого разбойники просто потребовали, чтобы их на несколько дней заперли под замок...
