УКРАЇНСЬКА МОВА
Пам'яті Тараса Григоровича Шевченка
Діамант дорогий на дорозі лежав,-
Тим великим шляхом люд усякий минав,
І ніхто не пізнав діаманта того.
Йшли багато людей і топтали його.
Але раз тим шляхом хтось чудовний ішов,
І в пилу на шляху діамант він найшов.
Камінець дорогий він одразу пізнав,
І додому приніс, і гарненько, як знав,
Обробив, обточив дивний той камінець,
І уставив його у коштовний вінець.
Сталось диво тоді: камінець засіяв,
І промінням ясним всіх людей здивував,
І палючим огнем кольористо блищить,
І проміння його усім очі сліпить.
Так в пилу на шляху наша мова була,
І мислива рука її з пилу взяла.
Полюбила її, обробила її,
Положила на ню усі сили свої,
І в народний вінець, як в оправу, ввела,
І, яз зорю ясну, вище хмар піднесла.
І на злість ворогам засіяла вона,
Як алмаз дорогий, як та зоря ясна.
І сіятиме вік, поки сонце стоїть,
І лихим ворогам буде очі сліпить.
Хай же ті вороги поніміють скоріш,
Наша ж мова сія щогодини ясніш!
Хай коштовним добром вона буде у нас,
Щоб і сам зивувавсь у могилі Тарас,
Щоб, поглянувши сам на створіння свое,
Він побожно сказав: "Відкіля на сіе?!"

In memory of Taras Grigorovich Shevchenko
The diamond was expensive on the road lying, -
In the great way every man went away,
And nobody knew the diamond of that.
Many people went and trampled him.
But once on that road somebody had a wonderful walk
And in the dust on the way he found the diamond.
He quickly knew the debris.
And he brought home and, well, as he knew,
Having worked out, he stroked the strange stone,
And he set him in a precious crown.
A miracle happened then: the stone sowed,
And with clear rays all people were surprised,
And with a sparkling fire shines colorfully,
And his rays are blind to all of his eyes.
So in the dust on the way our language was,
And her haughty hand took it from the dust.
She fell in love with her, treated her,
Put all his strength on the nail
And in the folk crown, as in the frame, he introduced
And, with a clear star, above the clouds raised.
And she was angry with her enemies
As a diamond is dear, as the star is clear.
And the age will sow until the sun stands
And evil enemies will be blinded by the eyes.
Let those enemies take away sooner
Our speaking language is clearer every hour!
Let her be of good quality with us
In order for himself to star in the grave of Taras,
That, by looking at his own creature,
He said piously, "Where are you from here ?!"
