На приёме у г-жи Философовой, когда Достоевскому задали вопрос - "Какой самый страшный, по его мнению, грех". Достоевский ответил - "Самое ужасное отнять жизнь, но еще страшнее изнасиловать ребенка..." затем поведал историю о том, как будучи ребенком, он стал свидетелем изнасилования девочки, подруги маленького Достоевского каким то пьяным уродом.
