Сшила старуха из деревни Нölmölä толстое одеяло своему мужу, только одеяло получилось короткое, и утром старик пожаловался, что всю ночь мёрзли у него ноги.
— Что за беда, сейчас исправлю, — встрепенулась старуха.
Отрезала она верхнюю часть одеяла и пришила её снизу. Потом повертела одеяло в руках, подумала и ещё кусок отмахала ножницами — пришила и его по низу одеяла. И зовёт мужа:
— Теперь тебе, старик, будет тепло, ноги не замёрзнут. Я одеяло удлинила, пришила снизу два больших куска.
Ничего не ответил старик. А что тут скажешь, если одеяло удлинялось дважды? Ноги-то, правда, у него по-прежнему мёрзли.

The old woman from the village of Hölmölä sewed a thick blanket to her husband, only the blanket turned out to be short, and in the morning the old man complained that his legs froze all night.
“What a trouble, I’ll fix it now,” the old woman started.
She cut off the top of the blanket and sewn it from below. Then she turned the blanket in her hands, thought about it and waved another piece with scissors - she sewed it on the bottom of the blanket. And she calls her husband:
“Now you, old man, will be warm, your legs will not freeze.” I extended the blanket, sewn two large pieces from below.
The old man did not answer. But what can you say if the blanket was extended twice? True, his legs were still freezing.
