Есть в осени первоначальной
Короткая, но дивная пора -
Весь день стоит как бы хрустальный,
И лучезарны вечера...
Где бодрый серп гулял и падал колос,
Теперь уж пусто всё - простор везде,-
Лишь паутины тонкий волос
Блестит на праздной борозде.
Пустеет воздух, птиц не слышно боле,
Но далеко ещё до первых зимних бурь -
И льётся чистая и тёплая лазурь
На отдыхающее поле...

A short but wonderful time -
All day is like a crystal
And radiant evenings ...
Where the jovial sickle was walking and the spike fell,
Now everything is empty - the space is everywhere, -
Only cobweb thin hair
Shines on idle furrow.
The air is empty, no birds can be heard more,
But far from the first winter storms -
And the clear and warm azure pours
On the resting field ...
