Па́вел Петро́вич Бажо́в (15 января (27 января) 1879, Сысертский завод, Екатеринбургский уезд, Пермская губерния, Российская империя — 3 декабря 1950, Москва, СССР) — русский писатель, фольклорист; впервые выполнил литературную обработку уральских сказов.
Лауреат Сталинской премии второй степени (1943). Член РКП(б) с 1918 года.
Многие из сказов (т. н. «тайные сказы» — старинные устные предания уральских горнорабочих) он слышал мальчиком от В. А. Хмелинина с Полевского завода (Хмелинин-Слышко, дед Слышко, «Стаканчик» из «Уральских былей»). Дед Слышко — рассказчик в «Малахитовой шкатулке». Позже Бажову пришлось официально заявлять, что это приём, и он не просто записал чужие рассказы, а действительно является их сочинителем.

Later Bazhov had to officially declare that this was a reception, and he did not just write down other people's stories, but really is their writer.
