Вавилонская башня - олицетворение царства эгоистической природы человечества. Люди воздвигли Бога из своего эгоизма вместо того, чтобы воздвигнуть Его из свойства отдачи и любви. И поэтому, в итоге, башня разрушилась. Тора говорит о том, что человек не в состоянии ничего построить на основе эгоизма и, достигая определенного состояния, обнаруживает свою несостоятельность.
