В этой суре рассказывается о рождении Йахии (Иоанна), сына Закарии. Закария просил Аллаха даровать ему сына, несмотря на то, что он стар, а жена его бесплодна. Затем в суре рассказывается о благочестивой Марйам и о том, как она родила Ису (Иисуса). В суре приводится история Ибрахима (Авраама) призывавшего своего отца к единобожию и отречению от идолопоклонства, а также рассказывается о беседах между ними об идолах и искушениях шайтана. В этой суре указывается на пророков из потомства Ибрахима, то есть Исмаила, Исхака (Исаака), а также из потомства Исхака. Далее приводится история Идриса.
This sura tells about the birth of Yahiya (John), the son of Zakaria. Zakaria asked Allah to give him his son, despite the fact that he was old, and his wife is barren. In the Sura, the story of Ibrahim (Abraham) called his father to monotheism and renunciation of idolatry, and also tells about the conversations between them about the idols and temptations of Shaitan. This sura indicates the prophets from the offspring of Ibrahim, that is, Ismail, Ishak (Isaac), as well as from the offspring of Ishak. Next is the story of Idris.
