Лениво смывает церквушки бока.
Спешат, суетятся уставшие люди,
Зонтами цветными трясут невпопад.
Среди серости мрачной капля иллюзий,
Эдакий грустный зонтов маскарад.
Обмануты временем длинные улицы,
Слизаны старостью, плесенью лет.
Только невзрачные грязные лужицы
Чей-то скрывают оставленный след.
Последний трамвай растворился в тумане
Лондона тихого, воруя огни.
От сырости спички промокли в кармане,
И город умолк от безмолвной тоски...

Эдакий грустный зонтов маскарад.

Слизаны старостью, плесенью лет.
Только невзрачные грязные лужицы
Чей-то скрывают оставленный след.
Последний трамвай растворился в тумане
Лондона тихого, воруя огни.
От сырости спички промокли в кармане,
И город умолк от безмолвной тоски...

The smoke stretches from the pipe of the blackened
Scratching the sky, in the ash of the cloud.
Rain outside the windows, as if barely managing
Lazily washes off the churches of the sides.
Tired people are rushing, fussing
The umbrellas of colored shake out of the habit.
Among the dullness of the gloomy drop of illusions,
A kind of sad umbrella masquerade.
Long streets are deceived by time,
Licked old age, mold of years.
Only nondescript dirty puddles
Someone hides the trace left.
The last tram dissolved in the fog
London is quiet, stealing the lights.
From damp, matches were wet in his pocket,
And the city fell silent from silent longing ...
