Послание к евреям, глава 7, стихи с 1 по 3:
7:1 Ибо этот Мелхиседек, царь Салима, священник Всевышнего Бога, встретивший Авраама, когда тот возвращался после поражения царей, и благословивший его,
7:2 Которому и десятую часть от всего отделил Авраам, во-первых, истолковываемый как «царь праведности», а потом и царь Салима, то есть царь мира;
7:3 Без отца, без матери, без родословия, не имеющий ни начала дней, ни конца жизни, а уподобленный Сыну Божьему, — пребывает священником впостоянно.
