Был беден обретенный храм,
Кирпичная краснела кладка,
Спокойно теплилась лампадка.
Лежала сырость по углам.
А в центре храма — мы с тобой
В одеждах праздничных стояли
И царские венцы пылали
И звали в вечность за собой.
Ты помнишь ли, как в этот час
Пахнуло миро и цветами,
Как пред отверстыми вратами
Священник вдруг оставил нас?
Все замерло. И, чуть горя,
У нас в руках дрожали свечи,
И, душам обещая встречу,
Сияла бездна алтаря.
