"Киево-Печерский Патерик" был составлен в XIV-XV вв. как первый в Древней Руси, принявшей Христианство, отечественный сборник жизнеописаний святых. Он посвящен подвижникам Киево-Печерской Лавры, являющейся колыбелью христианского монашества Руси и всемирно известной святыней Православия. В книгу вошли произведения, написанные в начальный период истории Лавры, в XI-XII вв. В последствии "Патерик" неоднократно перерабатывался и дополнялся, оставаясь одной из самых любимых книг на Руси.

It is dedicated to the ascetics of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, which is the cradle of Christian monasticism in Russia and the world-famous shrine of Orthodoxy. The book includes works written in the initial period of the history of the Lavra, in the XI-XII centuries.
