Иногда я часами смотрел на эти цветы, открывая все новые оттенки, постигая детали строения лепестков. Хотелось верить, что цветы никогда не увянут. Но однажды убиравшая в палате санитарка нечаянно встряхнула их, и лепестки осыпались, остались голые стебли. Мне стало грустно. Я попросил санитарку, сметавшую со стола лепестки, дать несколько штук мне, и вложил их между страницами тетради. Думаю, пройдут годы — и засохшие лепестки будут напоминать мне об очень трудных днях и ночах моей жизни. ("Белые цветы", Абдулясов А.С.)

But once a nurse cleaning the room accidentally shook them, and the petals crumbled, leaving bare stems. I felt sad. I asked the nurse, who was sweeping away the petals from the table, to give me a few pieces, and put them between the pages of the notebook.
