यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत ।
अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदात्मानं सृजाम्यहम् ॥४-७॥
yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati bharata
abhyutthanam adharmasya tadatmanam srjamy aham
परित्राणाय साधूनां विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम् ।
धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय सम्भवामि युगे युगे ॥४-८॥
paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskritam
dharma-samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge
"всякий раз, когда (время) и везде (место), где наблюдается упадок Дхармы (или упадок в религиозной практике), о потомок Бхараты, и нарастает и начинает преобладать Адхарма (неведение), то в это время я (Васудева Кришна) прихожу в мир.
Чтобы освободить праведников и уничтожить злодеев, а также восстановить устои религии Дхармы, я являю себя тысячелетие за тысячелетием.
