13 мая 1988 г. в районе кишлака Мармоль при проводке колонны с базы ММГ-1 Термезского ПогО (точка "База") на точку 1534 группа саперов из 8 человек попала в душманскую засаду. Группу забросали гранатами и раненых добивали в упор, выжить удалось тяжелораненому прапорщику и бойцу немного отставшему от основной группы. Этот пограничник - рядовой Николай Концов успел дать отпор душманам, уничтожив двоих и обеспечив тем самым поспешный отход бандитов.
