Музыкальная история «Prodigy» (сейчас «The Prodigy») началась в 1991 году, когда появился их первый мини-альбом «What Evil Lurks», состоящий преимущественно из ранних работ молодого Лиама Хаулетта. Сингл был замечен тогдашней рейв сценой и сразу попал в ротацию по различным клубам. Даже в наше время этот диск считается едва ли не культовой hardcore вещью, оригинал которой уже практически невозможно нигде достать. После успешного релиза их дебютного сингла группа отправилась в турне по Великобритании, выступая преимущественно в небольших андеграундных клубах. Но уже их первый заграничный концерт в Италии был восторженно воспринят итальянскими рейверами. Они провозгласили «Prodigy» лучшей группой тогдашней рейв-сцены.
The musical history of "The Prodigy" (now "The Prodigy") began in 1991 with their first mini-album, "What Evil Lurks", consisting mainly of the early work of the young Liam Howlett. The single was noticed by the then rave scene and immediately got into rotation in various clubs. Even in our time this disc is considered almost a cult hardcore thing, the original of which is almost impossible to get anywhere. Following the successful release of their debut single, the band embarked on a UK tour, playing mainly in small underground clubs. But already their first overseas concert in Italy was enthusiastically received by Italian ravers. They voted "Prodigy" the best band of the rave scene at the time.
