Lucia di Lammermoor is a tragic opera (Italian dramma tragico) in three acts of the Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti. Italian libretto by Salvatore Cammarano based on the novel by Walter Scott "The Lammermoor Bride" (1819). The premiere of the opera took place on September 26, 1835 at the San Carlo Theater in Naples.
