Заспіває пісню старий отаман
Про козацьке військо, про Широкий Лан,
Де шаблі заснули, де гармати сплять,
Та чекають часу знову славу здобувать.
Напилися вдоста крові ворогів,
Змучились в дорозі, та й собі лягли,
Хай відпочивають тут від ратних мук,
Хай чекають нових, сильних українських рук.
Закричав із неба старий отаман:
«Гей, повстаньмо брате, мій Широкий Лан!
Пробудіться шаблі співом золотим,
Хай розносить вітер по степам гарматний дим!»
І земля здригнулась, встав Широкий Лан
-Спи спокійно брате, старий отаман,
Ще нап’ються шаблі крові ворогів,
Ще земля побачить своїх відданих синів!!!
