«Ом Намах Шивайа» — одна из главных ведических и тантрических мантр. Её буквальный перевод – «поклонение Благому (Шиве)» и называется она панчакшара (пятислоговой) — мантрой. В её трансцендентных звуках содержится интуитивное знание Каула-дхармы. «Намах Шивайа» записана в самой сердцевине Вед — в знаменитом гимне «Рудрам» (Шатарудрия) Яджурведы и разъяснена в Агамах. Пять первоэлементов воплощены в этой Великой мантре. «На» — это земля, «Ма» — вода, «Ши» — огонь, «Ва» — воздух, а «Йа» — эфир. Namah Sivaya is recorded in the very heart of the Vedas - in the famous hymn Rudram (Shatarudriya) of Yajurveda and explained in Agamah The five primary elements are embodied in this Great Mantra. “Na” is earth, “Ma” is water, “Shi” is fire, “Ba” is air, and “Ya” is ether. The three words “Om Namah Sivaya” symbolize Shiva, Shakti and Jiva, indissolubly in unity, or Kule - the Primordial Family. Brahma (creation), Vishnu (preservation), Rudra (destruction), the three modes of material nature are also embodied in this mantra. Its values are many. Just as the tree is present in the small seed, the great Absolute is also present in this maha-mantra, and with Him all that is in a subtle form.
