Шилом бреется солдат, дымом греется...
Шли в побывку из Карпат два армейца.
Одному приснилось: мать стала гневаться,
А другой шел повидать красну девицу.
Под ракитой небольшой под зеленою,
Он ту девицу нашел застреленную.
А чумак уху варит на краю реки.
«Шли тут нынче, - говорит, - офицерики.
Извели они, видать, девку гарную!..»
И подался тот солдат в Красну Армию.

Two army men went on a visit from the Carpathians.
One dreamed: mother became angry,
And the other went to see the red damsel.
Under the squirrel under the green,
He found that girl shot.
A chumak ear cooks on the edge of the river.
“They walked here today,” he says, “officers.
They, they must have seen, wore a dressing gown! .. ”
And that soldier went into the Red Army.
