Александр Сегень родился в 1959 году в Москве. Окончил Литературный институт и аспирантуру при нем. Автор романов, повестей, рассказов, статей. Член Союза писателей России. Доцент Литературного института. Член Вольного Российского ихтиологического общества и Российского императорского православного палестинского общества. Лауреат премий: Московского правительства – за роман «Державный» об Иване III, имени В.М. Шукшина – за роман «Похоронный марш», имени М.А. Булгакова – за серию статей о русской истории, «Золотой гонг» – за серию статей о чеченской войне, Большой литературной премии Союза писателей России – за роман «Русский ураган».
